In late 2022 we made some custom clocks to give out as gifts. We combined some custom woodwork with photography and Mod Podge. The recipients were in love with the gifts and we were in loved with the creative process!

We decided to invest in a laser cutter so that we could spend more time creating custom art and decor.

In March 2023, Coal Mine Crafts was created and we sold our first custom piece, a family tree:

This piece is 18″ round. We discussed ideas with the client, designed it in Procreate, then prototyped it on cardboard.

Once we got the thumbs up, we proceeded to cut, stain and assemble.

The piece was shipped from Colorado to Boston in a pizza box and it’s now hanging in the recipients living room!

Now that we’re in business, we’re looking forward to creating more art, decor and custom pieces.
